The programme is supported by Department For International Development, United Kingdom (DFID, UK)/Development Alternative, New Delhi and is implemented under the guidance of the lead NGO, Abhiyan, Patna. BGVASS is one of the net work partners of the Poorest Area Civil Society Programme (PACS). We are making intervention in 10 villages of Hulasganj Block of Jehanabad district of Bihar for empowering women and making them self dependant and self reliant through entitlements realization, gender sensitization and ensuring women’s participation in local self-governance. The programme is now four years old.
Activities like formation of women's SHGs, Linkage block level rallies and demonstrations, panchayat level sensitization camps, were the major activities of the programme.
As a part of the Programme, community groups were also mobilized on NREGA and Right to Information Act in Hulasganj block of Jehanabad districts, Bihar. The objective was to aware them on how will this scheme operate, what kind of work would be provided etc. The programme was a success and 168 persons were also issued job cards.
