Literacy rate is quite low in Bihar as in compare to other developed states of India. The national literacy rate is 65.38% while that of Bihar is only 47.53%. Several education programmes run by the government are not functioning properly. In most of the cases there is half constructed schools, insufficient teachers or missing infrastructures. Since the quality of education is abjectly poor with no secured future, most of the students lose hope in studies and drop out. With the view to provide education to the children of poor community, BGVASS has been running 02 Non Formal Education Centres at Bolakpur village of Hulasganj Block with the community contribution and donation.
To provide a channel for the student creativity extra curricular activities are also organized frequently. These centres gave an opportunity to poor children to learn 3R (reading, writing, learning), general knowledge and hygiene.
